Cyber Threat Operations Analyst

The Cyber Threat Operations Analyst plays a crucial role in safeguarding our customers from cyber threats, including organized cyber crime and other forms of cyber attacks. This position involves a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and a proactive mindset to detect, analyze, and respond to cyber threats in real-time. The Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing and automating incoming threat intelligence, compromised credentials and network flow data on a continuous basis, using advanced tools and techniques to identify potential security breaches or incidents.
Key Responsibilities:

Threat Intelligence Gathering and Analysis: Stay abreast of the latest cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits that could impact the organization. This includes gathering intelligence from various sources, analyzing trends, and translating technical findings into actionable insights.

Security Monitoring and Alerting: Implement and manage security monitoring tools and technologies to detect abnormal activities and potential threats in network flow data. Analyze alerts and data to identify patterns indicative of malicious activities.

Incident Response and Management: Lead and participate in the customer response to cyber incidents, ensuring rapid identification, containment, eradication, and recovery from security breaches. Coaching customer teams and adding expertise as necessary.

Tools and Best Practices Education: Train and work with customers to understand RedSense data, tools and processes to maximize their effectiveness.

Customer Collaboration and Custom Reporting: Collaborate with customer teams to develop customized research and data investigation needed to make client organizations successful. Produce Request-for-Intelligence (RFI) reports as necessary.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field desired. Advanced certifications (e.g., CISSP, GIAC) are a plus.

Proven experience in cyber security operations, threat intelligence, or incident response.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.

Strong foundation in and understanding of:

Cybersecurity threats, threat actors, and the threat landscape.

Network security technologies and protocols.

Proficiency in security analyst tradecraft, such as tools and community resources, a plus.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

Experience with linux, Python, SQL and analytical tools a strong plus.
